Made during Ludum Dare 41 whose theme was "Combine two incompatible genres", Fuel Race is a mix between a runner and a construction sim, finally turning itself into a rhythm game if the player survives long enough.
I was the only game designer and artist in the team, and also had to craft some sound effect.
I always try to express a deeper idea through my simplest projects. Here, the goal was to play with the perversity in the economic growth ideology, where you try to prevent the inescapable fall of a city by producing more and more fuel at a rising feed.
